BEFORE:
The walls stayed plain white for quite a while! I was also tired of the red, green, and gold color scheme so while we were making changes I changed that up too.
AFTER:
The new color scheme is Navy blue, white, grey, and apple green. The grey on the walls is Benjamin Moore's "ozark shadows". In this room I left it full strength (not 50% like the hallways and my upstairs living room). We continued our "racing stripe" trim work look in this room as well as in the Kitchenette. I got the rug from RugsUSA, they have sales quite often and so I ended up getting it for $300 (size 8x10). All the blue pillows I found on Etsy (love my octopus one seen above!). The grey pillows are from Target. I'm still on the hunt for some more fun pillows for this room.
I got this side table on sale at Homedecorators, with shipping it was around $200. It came in a gray-green shade and I just spray painted it white. The lamp and silver coral accessory are from Homegoods.
My next post will be about my DIY floor pouf!
So the walls finally have some color and character - however as you can see they are still bare so there is still work to be done!
love the crisp, fresh look!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I actually just picked up those same gray pillows at Target for our family room couch. I love how "smart" they look.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to hear about the pouf. I actually used that fabric for new window treatments and pillows for our familyroom. Your whole house looks amazing!~Rosanne
ReplyDeleteAmy your house is beautiful! I can't get away from your site, I just keep looking at everything! Your kitchen is the most beautiful space I've ever seen ! Great job with everything!

Wow! Such a crazy transformation with just the rug. It's so inviting and has so much energy in there. I love it. Thank you for your kind comment on my blog!
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I've been by here to see what you've been up to! The downstairs is looking fabulous. I love the calming color scheme with the bold pops of color and pattern. Certainly a place I'd love hanging out! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work...it's always so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog & your taste! I'm curious about your carpet in your living and family rooms. We are replacing our carpet after an unexpected flood and I'm looking for a good short, lighter carpet that doesnt show traffic and vacuum marks. I immedialtely thought of you! Could you provide details (make, color, etc)? Have you been happy with the wear and the maintenance of a lighter color with little kids? Thanks in advance for your expert insight! P.s. this is my first comment on a blog E.V.E.R.!
ReplyDeleteI feel so flattered that I get your first comment!!! The carpet is Shaw Gainborough and the color is Soft Suede. I have mixed feelings about this carpet. This is a good short, lighter carpet that doesn't show traffic and vacuum marks. However I think the color is a little too light- every little spot and stain stands out waaayyyy too much! The carpet in my last house was darker and was awesome at hiding spots and stains and I LOVED it for that reason alone! So if I could do it all over I would stick with the style of this carpet but I would go a shade darker. Hope that helps!
